Economy Polymers and Chemicals is one of the world's leaders in polymer technology. Having been in the polymer business for over 20 years, Economy has made the commitment to do the proper research to insure we are continuously bringing new products to the markets. We have two manufacturing plants producing guar-based products, one in Houston, Texas and the other in Jodhpur, India. Both plants are ISO 9001:2000 certified. Both plants are state of the art with the plant in India producing the best quality of natural guar and the plant in Texas producing the highest quality derivatives of guar. NEW TECHNOLGY
ECONOMY was the first company to introduce fast hydrating guar in the year 2000. Since then it has become a standard for Oil Field servicing companies to use fast hydrating guar for fracturing gas wells. Our company has been working on this product for four years and we have come a long way.
Five years ago the standard guar product had a much slower rate of hydration with viscosities of 22-24 cps in three minutes and 34-36 cps in 60 minutes measured on FANN-35 viscometer. Today we produce product on a regular basis with viscosities of 34-36 cps in three minutes and 42-44 cps in 60 minutes. At present we are working on the next generation of guar products that will give even higher viscosities than previously described.
Because the rate of hydration of guar has increased, we have introduced a revolutionary method of fracturing the gas wells without using any oil (for suspending guar powder). We are using the fast hydrating properties of guar so that the guar powder can now be hydrated on the fly without first slurring it in oil, thus saving money and protecting the environment from any organic solvent exposure. We have applied for number of patents in this field.
We have introduced a number of products in the Personal Care industry and these products are being sold all over the world. We have introduced a unique product called
ECOPOL-RK for hair care. It can be used in hair styling gel. This polymer has built in conditioning as well as tackiness properties. This product has very good film forming properties.
